What a great blog! Your daughter is a good writer...and the pics of food porn are excellent. ;D
It's good to see your cheese shop tour happened. I hope it was worth the effort of getting a group together to go with you.
Your daughter is very lucky to have parents with an apartment in Paris...and a Father who willingly approaches guys on her behalf. LOL

:)Really enjoyed your daughters blog. I have left a couple of comments. Mums pictures are wonderful. Beautiful family, but I am shocked at dad bribing the man in the falalfal queue. He looks like such a nice guy too! ( tongue in cheek , joke!)
I often hear Americans talk about "carbs" negatively in relation to breakfast, (I know its carbohydrates) and wonder what all this is about?
Is there something I should know?

Many of us (North Americans) have bought into hype started by Dr Atkins about the "evil" carbs and their responsibility for "our" weight issues here. (why would we take responsibility for ourselves !) In fairness, we do seem to eat a lot of the re-fined processed carbs (white flour) but we eat a lot of processed re-fined food period. Personally, I LOVE me some carbs and can't imagine my life without bread ;D

:)Thanks for the explanation re "carbs" Belladonna... ...hmm interesting. Now I understand.
The Atkins diet has pretty much been discredited here and is considered bad for your health.
Complex carbohydrates, things like porridge, meusli or wholemeal toast are common as breakfast. Of course cereal is also very popular.

Love Alyssa's blog! It's so great to get a Paris perspective from a younger person. I love her witty writing style and the pics are fantastic (and adding to the PPD, but that's a given ) Looks like you all had a great time. Hope to make the soldes in January but will probably not ever see the Bastille ceremonies since I don't see myself in Paris in July heat, lol. Jo

Jo, Don't let the word July fool you, it was cool both this year and last. The military parade is always an awe-inspiring sight, and you would LOVE going to the Bal de Pompiers! I'll post some pics and a report soon.

If anything could get me to forget the heat, it would be the pompiers! Can't wait to read your report (and see those pics!). Jo
