Tonite we had reservations at Reed. We were meeting Lucien and Marie there at 6:30.we were the first guests to arrive, but the place quickly filled up.It only has seats for 20,Catherine had to turn 6-7 walking away while we were there. We started out with un coupe de champagne(good start). All the others started with terrine de fois gras .I went for the mackerel rillettes, something I never had before. It was a refreshing mixture with some light greens on top, served with some toasted bread.Yummy.The other 3 practically licked their plates clean. For my main, I choose the melt in your mouth ricotta with morelles.Bill and Lucien chose the beef cheeks. Neither of them never had them before. That must have been one happy cow, those cheeks were huge, I didn't think they would b so thick.Thick, but melt in your mouth tender, they are cooked in red wine for 5 hours, served on top of some smashed potatoes.Marie like her lamb stew, I didn't try that , but all four plates went back to the kitchen completely empty. Of course I had dessert, like you have to ask.Light lemon cheese cake, more like a pie, very refreshing.Bill had the Boston cream pie,Lucien the huge strawberry shortcake. And of course wine and coffee. We should have walked back in the rain, but Lucien had his car.You get a different view when someone is driving you, plus everything is lit up and gorgeous.Go to Reed, reserve early,it's delightful.

(Do you think any of us will live long enough to reach the end of our lists?!!) LOL Nope! ;D Reed is also on my list. We could have tried in May, but I didn't think it was a place for an 8 year old. Now January by myself may be a different matter...... Great review, thanks for taking the time to share with us! Jo

Thanks for this nice review Lainie - I was sorry that I didn't make it to Reed's in April but will take care of that if/when I get back to Paris in September - can't wait to go there!! I would probably do lunch rather than dinner but I'm sure lunch will be equally as good!
