For all of you in Paris in the not-too-distant future, Monoprix has just brought out some home decor items printed with the Paris monuments printed on them - Champagne flutes, highball glasses, napkins, etc. -- very cute, and very cheap - 3,50 for the Champagne flutes.
There's also pillows, metal canisters, cute paper napkins -- a pretty wide variety of things to scatter around the house.
There's also a "Eau de Paris" carafe -- but at 15 euros, I'll use an old wine bottle.

Thanks for the heads up. There's also a "Eau de Paris" carafe -- but at 15 euros, I'll use an old wine bottle. So says the resident of France - lol. This is exactly the type of thing I could convince myself I need to buy and drag across Europe during the rest of my travels. I have half-convinced myself to buy the largest mustard pot at the Maille store on my next visit.

It's a bit spendy for a glass carafe, though -- especially since I didn't love the design...but it has the nutritional info on the side (as an average reading for Paris water).
I figure if an old wine bottle is good enough for half the restaurants in Paris.....!

Darn it, we completely missed this last month! Didn't spend enough time in the Monoprix (or any other stores, really) since we were busy showing Seb Paris and his idea of Paris wasn't shopping (ah, I still have to teach that boy some things, lol) Guess I will have to check in out in January! Jo

Jo, they just appeared this weekend (I didn't see them in any of the Monoprix I've been in before this morning) -- so I don't think they were out yet -- so you didn't actually miss them!
I figure if they've got a dozen items in a small store out in La France Profond, they've probably got quite a bit in Paris proper.
Suzanne, it will be a few days til I could get back to the store -- PM me if you want to pursue my buying them and sending them to you.

There's also a "Eau de Paris" carafe -- but at 15 euros, I'll use an old wine bottle. Funny...or rather a coincidence...but when I was in Paris last Autumn, I bought myself some pretty pink roses for my room and then I needed a vase for them. I found a glass that was cute but shortly thereafter at Fleux, I spied an "eau de Paris" carafe that I seriously considered but did not buy...as 1) did I really need it at that price as I already found an inexpensive glass for my flowers and 2) bringing it back in my already crowded suitcase ...just didn't seem necessary. But at times thereafter I wish I had bought it just to have for a nostalgic carafe...so don't know if it is the same one you saw but just seems a coincidence that you would mention that particular item! ha! The one I saw had pink writing saying "J'aime l'eau de Paris" or some such....and so I thought how nice the pink would match my flowers and it was just pretty to me..ha! www.eaudeparis.fr/jsp/site/Portal.jsp?document_id=855&portlet_id=700

OH Geez! That's the same one -- interesting that Monoprix is tacking a full 50% onto the price!
