I visited the George V bar once with Gitte and it was lovely. Should I return in July, or are there any other recommendations? Thanks! PS Anyone have nearby resto recommendations in case we want to stay in that arrondissement?

George V is my favorite but I also like the bar at the Shangri-la www.shangri-la.com/paris/shangrilaI also like the Le Royal Monceau Raffles www.leroyalmonceau.com/#/a/21/the-hotel/472/le-royal-monceau-raffles-paris/ If you go here, be sure to take a look at the decor in the French restaurant - outstanding, from the mural on the ceiling to the arrangement of wine bottles on the back wall. George V is probably the most busy of all three and probably better located - always more action going on there. I'm sure you'd be pleased with whichever one you would choose - OR, you could go to all three!! There is also the bar at Le Meurice on Rue Rivoli which is also more centrally located and a fun place to visit www.lemeurice.com/bar-228

It's not in a hotel, but I always enjoy Le Fumoir on rue d'Admiral Coligny just across from the Louvre.

We like that one too DOug! About the only hotel bar we've been to is the D'Aubusson on Rue Dauphine for the jazz concerts!
