Oh no, does anyone know if there are family members or someone else lined up to take over? Haven't been there yet but so many people on here have recommended it we hoped to eat there on our next visit in July.

That is sad news - I knew I'd be sorry if I didn't have lunch there on this last visit! Really liked everything about this place!

That's sad to hear--it's been one of our old reliables too. They were closed for the holidays when we were there in Dec/Jan, and just this morning I put them on the list of possibilities for July.

:)Oh nooo!......as you all know I am not a foodie at all, but this is the ONLY restaurant I have dined at in Paris that I would really ever recommend as being consistently good, not overpriced and one of the few I have returned to again and again. I have dined in all kinds of places, but never has the experience been just as good the second, third or fourth time! (Or maybe I am just too fussy!)
Even if somebody takes it over, the place will not be the same without Madame serving in such an understated and efficient but friendly way and the chef, who' puts meat, fish and vegetables together so creatively.
I also now regret not dining there on my last trip as by July (when I go again) the place will be sold.

that is sad to read. I also found out some of my favorite Provencal dining places were closed or sold

And this is only one of the reasons why I love this forum...I would have never known about this lovely restaurant in the first place, much less that it was closing. It's been on my list of places to visit for years and just never got around to it.
But thanks to you all, I have reservations for Saturday night! It will mean a change in our museum night schedule but my goodness it is well worth it.
I know we'll have a wonderful time which makes it so bittersweet...

So glad you have reservations, Rachel. It's well worth a change in your plans. BTW, you can tell Nicole that there are many disappointed people on OPF.

Have fun in Paris this weekend, Rachel! Maybe you can get the scoop from Rachel and find out for us if they have someone taking over, if they're selling, or just closing it all together? Inquiring minds want to know... LOL

Quel dommage!! This is the only restaurant on my "must do" list for my month-long visit in October! It does appear that it is closing rather than being passed to another generation. I regret not having gone there, although I did try numerous times for a Fri. or Sat. eve. It's funny, I always count on certain things being eternal in Paris, even though that's not possible.

This is very tragic news indeed. Sigh. Shoesy, what did you have/enjoy during your last time there? (so that I can virtually relish). I wish I could go dine there again....but alas....with the closing date of May 20..tis not to be.

Darn I wanted to go there the last time we were in Paris and forgot to make a reservation . Now I guess we've lost the chance. Shoesy I have salivated all over my keyboard!

Oh my gosh, Shoesy! I'm drooling over myself now! Yes, Annette, I will ask around and see what's happening.
