Let me inflict some more odd photos on you.
I must always visit the parc des Buttes Chaumont
This plane tree was planted when the parc was laid out in the early 1860's after the desolate quarry had been incorporated into the new 19e Arrondissement as part of the destruction of turbulent Belleville.
At 0ver 20 ft circumference it is one of the largest.
The parc always seems to have joggers no matter what time of day. This lady is one of many such demonstrating why Parisiennes can eat and stay slim.
It is also a great pick up area
And also doubles as a beach
With this lovely view point
From where one gets a different view of Sacre Coeur
The parc is only a short walk up Av Laumiere from my hotel, the red awning is on the restaurant while the hotel occupies the floors above.
I also had my customary browse along the Puces de Vanves and spotted this bright Vespa
On the way back I visited the parc Montsouris
and checked out another section of the Petite Ceinture railway which encircled Paris in the 1800's
The to Port Royal to take this vista which I had spotted from the bus on a previous visit.
I must include some people. Parisians do not appear to have much respect for their politicians Please do not attempt to translate ;D ;D
To round it all off, some real beauty
I hope to be able to return at the end of Sept when the artists of Menilmomtant hold their Portes Ouvertes www.ateliersdemenilmontant.org/adm/portes_ouvertes/portes_ouvertes.htm
Hope I can make it.
To those who have been so kind as to ask after my wife. I'm afraid the news is not good, she is still in hospital and looks a poor old thing now. Life and too many previous hospital visits is taking its toll.
