Hi all. I am looking for restaurant recommendations near the Louvre or my hotel (Hotel Brittannique - 20 Avenue Victoria 75001). I plan on going to the Louvre on a Friday night and leaving around 9.30pm-ish. I am not interested in any kind of Asian food as I get a lot of that here. Any suggestions are welcome. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my list of Paris restaurants and I am starting from scratch. Thanks, Mez PS. Related to Paris and food - I watched Julie & Julia again last night. I love Meryl Streep's enthusiasm for the food.

Nothing comes quickly to mind other than Le Fregate on the other side of the river from the Louvre right across from the Pont de Carousel and an easy walk. Bistro de Paris is also nearby on Rue de Lille. We have enjoyed both of them and reservations are not necessary.
I'd be happy to share my resto list but non are too near your hotel and the Louvre

Two come to mind, Mez, and neither are far from you. The first is L'Ardoise and the other is Le Soufflé. Both are on the r. Mont Thabor which is off the r. Cambon just between the Pl. de la Concorde and Tuilleries métro stations.
I think you might want to reserve at both.

Thank you both.
I do recall Le Soufflé being on my list andI have not been there yet. I will check them all out and see how I feel on the night.
September can't come soon enough.

I had a wonderful time at Chez Denise and I was alone.
1st Arrondissement The first Arrondissement is in the very heart of the city. It is walking distance to most tourist sites and therefore is more expensive. Some fabulous hotels are located here; but we have found a few less expensive gems as well. L’Absinthe $$ GV This bistrot in the heart of Paris, now part of the Michel Rostang group, has become something of a haute bistro. It is still casual and comfortable but has been taken up a notch or two. Enjoy the terrace in warm weather at this central Paris restaurant. 24 place du Marché Saint Honoré Metro: Tuilleries Tel: 33 1 49 26 90 04 Open: Mon – Fri 12pm – 2pm, Mon – Sat 7pm – 11pm Closed Sundays Bistrot Saint-Honore $ GV This is a traditional Bistro specializing in Burgundian food. A small and charming bistro that charmed us with warm and personal service. 10 rue Gomboust Metro: Pyramides/Tuileries Open: Mon-Fri, closed on Sat and Sun. Tel: 33 1 42 61 77 78 Chez Denise $$ GV An authentic bistro where you’ll find good food for the prices. It is crowded, but fun. We recommend you try this little gem, a best restaurant in Paris. 5 rue des Provaires Metro: LeHalles/ Louvre-Rivoli Tel: 33 1 42 36 21 82 L’Ardoise $ GV
Chef Pierre Jay offers one of the best values in in any center Paris restaurant with his superb cuisine at reasonable prices. The décor is unimaginative and the seating tight, so just close your eyes, snuggle up and enjoy the wonderful food at excellent prices. 28 rue du Mont-Thabor Metro: Concorde/Tuileries Tel: 01 42 96 28 18

If you can offer it, La Touche Française has its best host near the Louvre, we had a really great time with my kids last years but it is quite expensive for only two or three people.
