;D I can't believe that in 48 hours we'll be at the airport, perhaps even after security. In the meantime, I'll be kept busy, not only packing, but attending a Memorial Day ceremony this evening and an Independence Day party tomorrow night. We won't be able to stay at the party too late (Ind. Day festivities usually continue until the wee hours of the morning), but since we will be leaving the house at 5:45 A.M. the next day, we need to squeeze in a few hours of sleep. Today I plan to pack, and I already have my potential Parisbound outfits neatly laid out on the bed in the spare bedroom. I'm only taking long sleeve tops since the forecasts are not all that great. As far as footwear is concerned, 2 pairs of very comfortable boots will be making the trip to Paris. With only 5 nights in Paris, I admit that I am taking more than I need, but since Shlomo is taking only the minimum, I plan to take advantage of the extra space in his suitcase. Needless to say, I'm really really really looking forward to the OPF GTG.

Wow! While it may not see like it to you, your trip has snuck up!
As long as you do not exceed the luggage limits, who cares how many outfits you take? :-)
Have a wonderful trip, enjoy your time at the GTG and we'll hear all about it when you get back.
Safe travels, Mez.

I have just done my trial bag pack, came out at 14lbs total. I had seen the roll clothes up tip years ago, kitbags as issued to the forces are cylindrical, so you soon learn. The weather is a bit iffy with the promise of the odd thunderstorm on Sunday. I always look at this site first www.meteo-paris.com/ile-de-france/previsions.php When you are at the airport Shoesy, I will be in my friends car, travelling to the station. Can't wait to meet everyone in le Valentin on Friday ;D ;D ;D

Oh, I read your post too quickly! Well...I do share your excitement!! Do you have certain restos on your list to visit? I know your hotel...how fun! I love the little pet stores not too far from there...and I love Bibal...a store also not too far from there (and of which I oft seem to find an item or two)....How I wish I was traipsing off to Paris as well now..but I am so excited for you! I bet you could pop in a short sleeved top or two...won't take up too much room (I packed too warmly when there in late September...warmed up nicely (and unexectantly)..and there I was all in long sleeves and too warm of shoes! Wonder what shoes you are taking (oops...I see boots...hmm...I have to look at the forecast..but I wonder)? Well, again..bon voyage..on Jeudi! XO

Have a great trip! I'll be there in spirit too! Be sure to leave enough room in one of the suitcases for all the goodies you'll buy in Paris.

Sis - If "you-know-where" begins with a "B", then that's the first place I plan to visit Thursday afternoon, once we get settled in our room. ;D One day to go, and we're all packed. Unlike me, Shlomo packed the minimum (he's good at that) and asked if he should have packed a smaller suitcase. My reply was "No way!!!!!! What if I want to buy things in Paris, like.......... a coat?" The truth is that I'm not really a shopper in Paris, and a coat is probably the last thing I'd buy, but you can never know what I might see and fall in love with. Besides, I absolutely have to buy something (or several things) for the twinnies , right? Thank you all for your well wishes. P.S. Cybee - In response to your dining question, yes, we have reservations for every evening except the first because that's when we want to eat in Relais de L'Entrecote, which is a must for Shlomo. We've only eaten in Relais de Venise (a number of times), and since the above is supposed to be the same, we'd like to give it a try.
