Slept in..opened drapes and surprise SUN!!!!! Next surprise..walk out of hotel and pavement is dry....first time !!!!! But ..bitter wind COLD! Head towards Pl. Contrescarpe for cafe, perrier and people watching The make our way down Mouffetard towards Church and Sunday players. Settle in to a cafe table there..outdoors!!! ;D (direct sunlight and heat lamps necessary) for kir royales and enjoy the music and Sunday shoppers. Lovely relaxation. Lunch res at Au Petit Marguery More coupes of Champ and I start with a warm salad of Morteau sausage and green letils. Then a pigeon in puff pastry with foie gras and apples..divine! Nice bottle of Broilly. Wasn't sure about dessert so S/O ordered the Grand-Marnier Souffle ahead then I got the "light" desset du jour..gratin de poires sabayon au Champagne et sorbet poire. Good choices Delicious food ...nice dining experience once again! Walked back via St. Germain where there is some Sunday liveliness as well. "window licking" Went out for cafe diner, and after some Seine strolling wound up enjoying Norte Dame views splitting a poulet sandwich and vin rose. Also split a fantastique pistachio eclair purchased earlier! Kind of wierd...this was exactly 2 weeks ago today.....today wasn't anything like that....... But I am having merguez later..bought harissa earlier today.....

The Sunday festivities on Mouffetard is still on my list. I stayed a block away once but didn't know about them at the time.
Glad to see champagne is back!

It seems like EVERYONE loves Au Petit Marguery. Glad your meal was a good one. And it is great for Sunday lunch...because, well, it is open...and you see older couples, extended families, some celebrations, etc. Plus location wise you can "do" Mouffetard before or after! ;D

Yes Jody, they have a set dejeuner menu with several varied choices and then a slightly more expensive dej/Diner set menu with more choices. Lots of fish, terrines, lamb, beef, duck chicken..the gamut! And a lot of it is "brand name" aka label rouge and other certifications And then there is the place next door......forgot to check menu....

Au Petit Marguery has been a favorite for many years. We haven't been in awhile though, since it's a bit out of the way. The food is always delicious and the bistrot ambiance is classic.

I've never eaten at Au Petit Marguery. I may need to fix this during the next trip. :-)
