Doug recommended this place years back and it's been on my list for ages! Still haven't gotten there tho.

You know, Sandy...it's been on my list for seems like years I've never heard anything bad about it...but I've never eaten there either. I'm waiting until I'm traveling with a real meat-lover, I guess. I've read that it does meat on an open fire. Sounds delish! Ha! Annette, we posted pretty much the same thing at the same time

Been on my last 3 or 4 lists but still haven't made it. I hope they do some organ parts for David!

We had a wonderful dinner there in 2008. Very cozy atmosphere and a perfectly blue rare cote de boeuf for 2. We shared our table with a retired art historian and his wife who split their time between Paris and their home in the US (can't remember exactly where).
We've always wanted to go back but there's just too many new places to keep trying! ;D

Oh, way too many, Mez.......that's we have to keep going back! It will be a different kind of trip in May ~ I don't think Sebastian will be up for too many 3 hour lunches or dinners, lol. On the other hand, I am looking forward to enjoying many crepes, croques monsieurs, pasta and pizza dishes! But Sebastian is still my grandson, so he has also told us he wants to try foie gras, macarons and escargots. ;D He has a list of stuff he wants to do in Paris and one was "eat crape in the garden" (we have rented Luc's beautiful apartment with that great garden). When my daughter questioned why he had written that, he told her that he meant crepes but didn't know how to spell it! Ah, I love that boy!!! Jo

Jo, is there any restaurant that you guys have not eaten at? ;D LOL Darryl said the same thing to me yesterday! We were in the bookstore at the Disney Concert Hall in LA, and while browsing thru some of the architecture books, Darryl found an entry about Nomiya. I said Jo and Den have eaten there! You three will have a wonderful time in May eating "crape" in Luc's garden! That is precious!!!

I was staying at a hotel on the same street as R&L. The reason I didn't dine there is because they have Turkish toilets.

Good to know about the toilets - will make sure to plan ahead as I have trouble with those things!

I believe I saw an episode on Anthony Bourdaine's "No Reservations" where he was eating at this place.

We ate there in October for lunch. Very cosy little place with an open fire at the back for cooking, but they do have tables downstairs as well! It was a really lovely meal, unfortunately one that I didnt take any pics of, so I dont exactly remember what we had! I just remember walking out feeling quite stuffed and satisfied! I did use their WC, but really can't remember if they were turkish. Maybe as we'd been cruising around rural France, the squats didnt shock me any longer...

I've eaten there twice. Great atmosphere and the beef is very good, but fatty which makes it very tasty. The sides of potatoes and salad are great. I shared the cote de beouf last Sept. When I went by myself a few years ago, I had a steak that was less fatty and, also, very good.

Hmmm.....fatty meat doesn't appeal to me.
