Winter is generally rather gentle in Paris, but from time to time it can have a bite. Here are a few photographs of the past couple of weeks. Never fear, the episode has now ended.

Great pictures kerouac. Glad it's warmed up now!
The frozen fountains are particularly fascinating.. Love the night shot on the canal.

I also really enjoyed your Canal St Martin pictures, Kerouac. Those huge shards of ice are very striking.

Looks too cold for my FL blood!but then again it is Paris!! True. And if someone said to me "I bought you a ticket to Paris but it's for a trip during winter" well, I would not be saying no. ;D

What a difference a few days makes!
The cold has left (hopefully for good, for this winter) -- and it's quite mild again -- warm enough to put my heavy winter coat back in the armoire, and bring out the regular winter coat.
No sunshine and a little drizzly, but it's better than bitter cold!

I'll take the freezing cold with glorious sun over the slightly milder temps with gray drizzly skies any day.

Those photos of the Canal St. Martin made me think of Amsterdam. A few more days of that cold and we may have seen skating on the canal. It's funny...last January I had to go buy a lighter jacket when I arrived in Paris. What a difference... Great pics, Kerouac.

FM, I'll be right there with you in a week or two -- in the meantime, I've stopped shivering, and my painfully dry skin has stopped bleeding and begun to heal.
I'll take what improvements I can get!

WellI didn't see any of that...but it was cold for me....I'm used to our mild NYC winter this year! ;D Supposed to be near 60 today! Got back last night...of course yesterday was the nicest weather wise ... Monday was a pretty day..Sunday too but the wind got to me!!! Brr!!! Pavement was never dry from when I arrrived on Monday until Sunday...spitting, drizzle, some sleet..but no heavy rain until Sat nite! But one doesn't go to Paris for the weather...or Casablanca for the waters!! Sorry jet lag supreme.....coping with work...
