Gitte...I missed this thread yesterday. I just bought the Gourmet SHOPS of Paris by the same authors...on Amazon as well. For about $10USD. It's great too....but too many words and not enough pictures. There's a place in Montmartre listed...I wonder if you know it...something d'Oro...I can't remember and the book is at home...but it has d'Oro in the name. It looks absolutely stunning.

Gittek, Looks a great book indeed, thanks for sharing. I looked it up on Amazon UK, and was immediately taken to pages of other "Paris" books that look interesting as well. I will keep on browsing!

Yes, Joy!! That's it. The article said it was "near Montmartre" and that's about it. Have you been? If not, anyone else? The pictures really look great. It may have find a spot on the never-ending list.

Glad I had the information -- chocolate rules!!! I have not been there, but the reason I have kept the name and address was that I was in Lyon in 2002 and went to Bernachon chocolatier who (I understand) has some connection with Paul Bocuse. I purchased a box of chocolates (not realizing how wonderful they were!!!) for my office and they were ALL gone within about 5 minutes after I put them out!!
The gal that has this shop carries Bernachon, so if she gives any "tastes" or "samples," try the Bernachon and see how you like it as compared to others (I know, it's hard to remember just how luscious it all is and where it came from!).
I have read that she can "talk the leg off a chair" so there's a heads up if you're in a hurry.

Bernachon is a highly reputable chocolatier, but its "connection" with Bocuse is simply that Paul Bocuse's daughter has married the Bernachon heir . Now, THAT'S an interesting dynasty, isn't it ? ;D
