Well, since I wrote a few posts on our Christmas vacation in Paris, I've been on a roll. Strolling along Avenue Montaigne brought back fond memories. It's really one of my favorite places for a stroll, in addition to the banks of the Seine. It’s the first place where my daughter started walking longer distances — meaning more than just a few steps pushing her walker. It was in the spring of 2011 and I vividly recall stepping out of the hotel and, instead of sitting in her stroller, she held on to it and we walked up and down the avenue. Our vacation hit right at the developmental phase when she wanted to practice walking. As a mom, it was an amazing feeling seeing my daughter learning to walk. And I could truly see the excitement in her face, smiling (often giggling) with each step. She felt so proud of herself. Pictures and more here: www.33avenue.com/montaigne/

Yes, it was by pure coincidence that she wanted to practice then ... now I will never ever forget that time in Avenue Montaigne.
