The restaurant for our GTG in NYC in 2009 - DB Bistro Moderne - was mentioned on 60 Minutes (hour long news program) tonight. It was a story on truffles, and how truffles from China are being passed off as French or Italian.
They showed a picture of the burger that I think Sandy had.
Brought back great memories!
But concerning about the impact this is having on the European truffle business.

Just watched this segment on 60 Minutes also - Janet - I believe that was the burger I ordered!! I did a google search and found this article of the interview that Lesley Stahl just did on the program. www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57354702/truffles-the-most-expensive-food-in-the-world/Seems that it is getting to be quite a problem as they are mixing in the Chinese truffles with the French ones but selling them as though they are all French ones.

I missed the last segment of 60 Minutes as I switched over to PBS for the new season of Downton Abbey on PBS at 9. But I have it taped as i had it set to tape The Good Wife..delayed by football. Will catch it and read the link later. Sandy's burger.....yes good memories! I'm sure her truffles were real! Oh , by the way, speaking of football, GO GIANTS!!!!!!!

So long as you don't miss out on anything. :-) LOL Should not have been complicated at all...wanted to watch 2 programs that were on at the same time...the one I chose to tape was on the same channel as a football game , so in the event that the game ran long, which it did...I set it to tape for longer than the show. Watching 60 minutes...9PM approaching, change channel, used W/C(channel going to watch has no commercials! ;D)tape started. Well I enjoyed watching Downton Abbey, got all of The Good Wife and most of the last 60 Min segment...but in the minute of changing channel, going to toilette, and tape starting..missed all mention of DB Moderen and view of Sandy's burger!
