Hi everyone! Here's my travelogue from my most recent trip this spring when I brought my two-year-old daughter (she was less than 18 months then). I think she absolutely loved it! While I've been to Paris many times, it's the first with my daughter and I feared that maybe we'd encounter places/shops that were not friendly towards children. But we absolutely had an amazing time! I can't wait to take her again. deuxarmoires.wordpress.com/2011/03/22/paris/Thanks for letting me share.

Hello deuxarmoires, welcome to OPF. Hope you enjoy it here.
Really enjoyed your blog trip report. My, the rooms at the hotels look luxurious. A good insight into how it is to be in Paris with a toddler in a stroller and for me, how the other half lives. Although in my younger days I too used to stay in places like this.
If ever I won the lottery I would immediately book into GeorgeV to "think" about how to spend the money LOL!
For now I have to be satisfied with a pot of tea in the lounge.
Look forward to your next trip report.

Thank you denise and geordy!
I've always dreamt of staying at the Plaza Athenee so I decided to take the plunge and splurge this spring with my daughter.
I haven't been to George V though ... will try tea there. =)

Thank you denise and geordy! I've always dreamt of staying at the Plaza Athenee so I decided to take the plunge and splurge this spring with my daughter. I haven't been to George V though ... will try tea there. =) I've only had lunch and drinks there..... And I'm not "wedded" there..my post lottery hotels could be your two choices as well! ;D Or a notch down..just the month to absorb the win... And go from there..... ah Dreams! Now I'm just trying to keep my job with the "broke" Federal Gov!

Just stay away from Le Meurice lol! I admit that the restaurant was nice, but I was really not thrilled of their service and whatnots. For example, when I asked to have my unfinished meal brought up to my room as my toddler was becoming cranky, they didn't even bother to change the plate. They really brought it up as is ... messy and the likes as I was sharing with my daughter.
Unlike at the Plaza, they had the decency to change plates and make my unfinished meal more presentable. Actually, when I told them I was done as my daughter was getting tired, the waiters were even the ones who asked/recommended if they should bring my leftovers to my room so I can continue there. Now, that's service!
Anyway, back to the Plaza bear ... after the hotel read my TA/blog review, they contacted me and apologized that there was no bear. They immediately sent us a huge red bear by post. =)

Welcome to OPF! Have enjoyed reading your Blogs - how wonderful that you had the experience of staying at the Athenee!! I'm not surprised that you had such wonderful service as they make me feel special and all I'm there for is a Cafe Creme in the bar! You must try the George V - also very special and such great service - just love going there. I'm in the category with others that will definitely stay there when I win the Lottery - and you're all invited for a drink!!!

This post helps me a lot and inspire me more to include Paris in my trip. I planned my trip by ferries to France this Christmas. Any way I plan my trip to visit Paris too. It has lot to offer and missing that great place would make my trip incomplete as well.
