Finally, here's our second to last day in Paris. All the rumours you've heard about Chez L'Ami Jean are true ~ we had a food extravaganza and then followed that up with an afternoon at Bercy Village taking in an oyster festival and another food market. I now weigh 500 pounds, lol thisoldbroadsblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/feast-at-chez-lami-jean-and-another.htmlHopefully, I'll wrap this up tomorrow night. Jo

So much fun reading your blog Jo! Now I'm hungry and only have saltines and mustard Given your obvious love of food and knowledge of things foody in Paris have you ever thought of hosting a dinner in one of your favourite places while you are there? I am sure I am not the first person to say you would be fun to dine with especially for those of us who are either intimidated by the places you are so comfortable with or who need support in trying sweetbreads for the first time. Just a thought - I'm in if you ever do ;D

What a nice thing to say, Belladonna! I'm always happy to meet fellow OPFers while I'm in Paris. I really don't consider myself any kind of food expert (we hardly go out to dinner here in Canada, preferring our own cooking, lol) but we are adventurous in trying new foods ~ I figure if they put it on a plate in front of me at a good restaurant, it's meant to be eaten and I'll try it. I don't think too much about what I'm actually eating sometimes, but just concentrate on the taste and texture, lol. Some of the places we've been to have no choice menus so you do have to have a certain openness to the food experience. In the end, everyone has to stay within their comfort level ~ it's just that ours is fairly open. Thanks for reading the blog and hope to meet you in Paris one day. Jo

It's a good thing I have a trip coming up Jo, otherwise these reports would send me spiraling into the depths of PPD. But since we'll be there in 72 days, they're adding greatly to the anticipation!

So while Den watches his beloved Lions this afternoon, I managed to finish up my last entry: thisoldbroadsblog.blogspot.com/Anyone looking for exciting stuff will be disappointed ~ as usual, we walk our little feet to the bone, eat, drink and walk again. Oh, and Den took pictures of the Eiffel Tower! I'll try to do a wrap up post as well, we'll see how ambitious I am later. Jo
