Funny you should ask today . There was a Zagat booth set up at the Shopping mall/tower at Columbus Circle today as I walked thru on my way to Lincoln Center. So I asked the kid there about it..he was clueless....apparently just a temp hire to staff booth..not sure of it's purpose! They had laptops set up and the NY guides. I had sent them an e-mail some time back..they replied it would be on it's way sometime after it was published in April. I was guessing they might be behind schedule and was planning on inquiring again if I don't get it by the end of May.

LOL That's funny, Geordy! I just happened to see a Zagat ad it jogged my memory today. I sent an email to ask. It's currently for sale on their website.

Received this response today:
"Thank you for contacting Zagat.
The complimentary Paris guidebooks are being shipped out next week as we have experienced a technical issue with our internal system that verifies survey participation rewards for users.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concern."

Thanks Annette....I guess I can wait a bit longer as I won't be there until September...but I'm looking forward to fun reading! And to see if they used any of my "witty, pithy, comments"!

LOL! Yes, I'm trying to remember what kind of a "witty, pithy" mood I was in when I wrote my comments late one night back in September...I hope I didn't embarrass myself! hehe

Is anyone else disappointed with this most recent addition? It is very thin and so many places have been omitted, especially old reliables that were previously included.

I contacted them again today..this is the response:
Thank you for contacting ZAGAT. I apologize for any inconveniences you have experienced with our survey participation reward. I have arranged to mail out a complimentary 2012/13 Paris guidebook to the address listed under your profile. You should expect your complimentary book in 7-10 business days via standard mail. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions or feedback. Best Regards, Zagat Survey Customer Service
So...I'm guessing some of us fell by the wayside..and another reminder is required!
I'll post when I get it!

I finally got mine on Monday. Instead of sending it regular mail as they said..they sent Fed Express.... So I had a mystery for a few days while they re-routed to the local Fed Ex office. My apt building is locked with no doorman so unless someone else in the blgd is getting a delivery and will sign for mine..no go. I hadn't ordered anything so hadn't a clue..man on phone said return address was Google..what the heck would Google send? Web addresses??? Apparently Google and Zagat must now be part of the same conglamerate! As for the guide the last Paris one I have was I think 2002/03. It had over 200 more restaurants. Also feel that Asian spots are over represented(but for folks who actually live in Paris and given all the Asian tourists I guess it makes sense!) and that the 10, 11, and 12th..fastest growing trendy restuarant areas are under represented! But as it was..eventually..free....okay. But I find with the New york one..the "witty, pithy" comments are not what they once were....and not that many negatives..I guess that is a good thing...
