like fine wine and cheese! ;D
Ah yes the big day! Starts with PD in bed with a few extras provided by S/O!
Stop by exhibition @ Hotel de Ville "Paris Seine". Old photos and films..and up to the current Paris Plage....risque bathing suits in the 30's and swimming in the seine..Mon Dieu! Enjoyable, informative, free as usual and W/C's !
Stroll up Rivoli "window licking" , to Madelaine..got some moutarde @ Maille, kirs at Paris & London cafe there...used W/C...never realized it was so big..or nice inside! Using W/C because pretty ones at Madelaine are closed? No, not for lunch...padlocked , no sign, and lots of garbage on steps(can any one say ratatouille?)
To Lunch at Carre Des Feuillants...to be described in Restaurant thread.
Weather clouding up after lunch so return to hood. Improved once we got there so some more shopping!
Well , once again diner beckons , after huge lunch looking for something lite so head down block to Bouquet St. Paul where we remember some interesting starters. Carte has changed a bit..maybe ownership too??...deciding between a sandwich, salade..but just as the waiter comes....one of the specials calls to me and I'm having foie de veau and puree!! Perfectly cooked , rose, and creamy delectable BIG bowl of puree! Medoc vin. "lite" Cafe France to finish.....avec cognac and chantilly!
In the small world category there were two Brit guys staying at our hotel in Tours...saw them in the lobby in their bicycle helmets, then ran into them going to diner and we exchanged comments on the "magic door"..they said they'd have to get one at home!, then they were also at PD the last morning, then at the bar @ the Gare.
Apparently on the same train because we ran into them again walking back to our hotel in the Marais!!
