Hi
I'm hoping someone is able to help me with an unusual request.
For the last year I've been trying to find a model of a Citroen Traction Avant to buy as a gift for my other half, like the ones in the Alain Delon movies. He is nuts about these films and is always talking about wanting a Traction Avant!
I've tried various model shops and model car sites on the internet to no avail.
We're coming to Paris at the beginning of October for a week and wondered if anyone knows the best place to find a model shop.
Many thanks
Janet

Im not sure what you are looking for. There are showrooms on the Champs Elysee including one for Citroen. I purchased some little cars for my grandsons there in the gift shop a few years ago.

Thanks Suzanne, I hadn't thought of trying the showroom on Champs Elysees. These cars featured in a lot of films in the 1960s and I've been trying to obtain a little model of one for the last couple of years.
I'll definitely try your suggestion.

Why not have a look at www.ebay.fr? I typed in "traction avant" and got multiple results including this: annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/Traction-/5039488818Or drop by TripAdvisor and look up member 'WizardofAus'... he owns a real Traction Avant so I'd wager he'd know where to find a model! Bonne chance! Rob

Thanks very much Rob. I've never tried to buy anything on ebay, I think I'm a bit scared of it, don't know why. I'll definitely pm Wizardof Aus and ask his advice.
I also seem to recall a shop in one of the passages that sold models so that's another place I can look as well.
Thanks again Janet

There is little to be afraid of with eBay... they have been around for years and are one of the biggest internet firms. Over the years I have bought over 150 items on eBay from sellers in the US, Canada, England, France, Czech Republic, Germany and Greece. I have never... not once ... had a problem.
Go ahead and have a go!

I eventually enlisted my son's help and purchased a lovely model in its original packaging on ebay. Husband is delighted with his birthday gift. Thanks for your help robc.
