Hi Our 3 month trip to France is fast approaching...woohoo! Anyway, my husband's a bit of a Masterchef and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cooking school. We looked at Le Cordon Bleu, but they didnt have anything he wanted for the month we are in Paris. Not really for pastries, just basics of classic french bistro/regional food. Its a good way for him to have a break from me and the 3 year old, and I benefit with the practice at home!! So if anyone has been to any school that they rate, please let me know.
Thanks
Kirstin

Hi there Kirstin. I don't know if you need the classes to be in English, or if French would be ok. For English, our very own , and truly French, Anne Sfez does an excellent class from her home, followed by a lovely dinner with her husband. She is now the food editor for a grocery store magazine, too! afoodiefroggy.canalblog.com/If she's not available, the Ritz Escoffier has a pretty comprehensive list of classes, too. If French is okay, L'Atelier de Fred is a fantastic place to head and you'll find even more classes available at L'Atelier des Chefs. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!

I can vouch for the Ritz classes -- had a blast!
They don't offer a lot of traditional/regional dishes, though -- mine was a Mother's Day menu, and very tasty, but not particularly traditional.
Mine was in French, but I believe English classes are available.

thanks for that. I will look at Anne's site. French classes are out of the question as my husband can just about utter Bonjour...I did look at Atelier de Fred as it was mentioned in Ines' book, but sadly realised it was all in French. I will also definitely look at the Ritz classes for him. otherwise i may just send him for macaron making at le cordon bleu! wouldnt be a bad thing!
thank you

No idea how good this one is, but friends of mine are signed up here: www.cuisinemb.com/u_frame.htm Classes are given in English. If I hear back as to how the classes went, I'll post the feedback.
