No, it isn't any of the usual suspects. It's not even the Val de Grace, which I wrote about in a previous posting, although that comes close. This is a complete one-off in the 14th called Notre Dame du Travail. The interior is structural iron, and if you like the Eiffel Tower, you will love this church. The ironwork makes the interior light and graceful. Suddenly, stone pillars start to look clumsy by comparison. Here is a link to our pictures of the place: parisianfields.wordpress.com/2011/04/08/notre-dame-du-travail/Let us know what you think!

Nice article and photos! This church seems to have an almost lacy quality compared to the stone we are accustomed to seeing. I'll have to take my husband to check it out in July--I think he'll like it, or at least appreciate that it's something very different from the "usual".

This church has been on my To Do List for about three years! Thanks for the reminder.

What a wonderful church! This is the first time I'd heard of it. I sincerely enjoyed the detailed photos and the well-written corresponding text.
This is definitely going on my "To Do" list for my next visit.

What an interesting story! Although I admire and respect the workers and their history, I can't decide if I like the interior or not. It's one of those things I need to ponder a while. Thanks for the post, Parisianfields.

I find that one of the most difficult things for many Americans to understand ... If you're planning to marry in a church in Paris, but aren't currently living in ... your fantasy of a storybook wedding in a beautiful old church in Paris.
