Looks great! That's the area I'm thinking about for my next trip.
We seem to have similar taste in apartments.

That looks great and the price is fantastic given the amount of space on offer. Well done!

Thanks, I think it will be comfortable. Now if only I could find an airfare that's less than $1,200.

:)Fantastic! Having recently stayed a week on Rue de la Roquette, I fell in love with this area. There is just a nice buzz about the place. I am almost afraid to enthuse about it in case it gets invaded by tourists. I wondered if the Marais was like this before tourists discovered it LOL! We frequented a bar caller cafe du Passage just near your apartment which had comfy sofas and nice jazzy music in the background, quiet enough to hear each other talk. The staff were very friendly. Lizzie drank wine and I drank fruit juice. It just had a nice friendly atmosphere you know. I also spent an evening on my own in the Autelier Charonne across the road. A jazz trio were playing. It did not cost anything except the price of a fruit juice. It is a well known jazz venue I found out since. www.new-paris-ile-de-france.co.uk/attractions-paris/nightlife/spending-the-night-out/the-atelier-charonne-212551.htmlDenise Love form England

Wow, that is a great apartment, especially for the price! It looks huge, as well as bright and airy, and I really like the decor. Congratulations on a great find.

Darcy, if you can find a less expensive fare from Orlando (MCO) you can leave the car here and I'll take you to the airport.
What is it with the taxes on these fares? I found a $600.00 fare and the taxes were an additinal $450.00!!

Yes, airfares have been especially high lately. I haven't seen anything I want to jump at for either of our upcoming trips this year.

Nice apartment. From NYC in September, American, Air Lingus and Icelandair all are under $1000 including all taxes. First is non stop while others do have one stop.
Probably depends how competitive the departure city flights are.
Good luck.

Darcy, I gave my niece a choice of your apartment or the other one that I sent you a few days ago. But I'll be very interested in your thoughts when you return. I'd love to stay in that one sometime. It looks great! As Denise says, I think you'll love that area too.

I can already give you a bistro recommendation, since that apt. is just a few minutes from our place. On rue de la Roquette just before Place Leon Blum, there is one of those authentic old bistro that is stock in time. It called La Renaissance. Also on rue de la Roquette something different for a nice diner La Fée Verte, go early it always full.

Wow! Thanks for all the recommendations! At the end of a very long day, it's nice to eat in the neighborhood and a nice quiet bar is always a pleasure. holger - yes, airfares from NYC are always less than other cities jody - thanks! You can be sure I'll be checking fares from Orlando as well as Tampa. I've chosen Sept this year because of the Patrimoine weekend, the 17th and 18th.
