Hey Guys,
Is A/C a good plan for this time (May 24-June 4)?
Thanks,
JC

Oh Boy....you will get very strong, differing opinions on this one!!! I'm firmly in the May thru September must have A/C camp! Of course it could be freezing out too! ;D Paris weather....tres unpredictable...from minute to minute let alone month/season!!! ;D

Geordy: I think I am in your camp with this one. I would hate to have the vacation ruined because I was sweating all night!

And if it is warm/hot/and/or very humid...it is so nice after a long day of sightseeing/bustling about the City to open your door to coolness...rather than opening wide all the windows and hoping for a breeze or camping in front of a fan whilst getting ready for diner/whatever! And then sweating all night! Better to be safe than sorry..... ;D * Me ..giving good advice to a Red Sox fan? Oh the Horror!! Well ..there is Happy...who I'm assuming is very happy right about now!!! ;D

We were here that exact time last year, and were really glad we had a/c--we didn't t need it all the time, but we had 2 really hot days when it was much appreciated. Conversely, I was here this exact time last year and froze my popo off, but our first day here yesterday was very mild.

The weather in Paris is sooooooooooo unpredictable. In June 2004, I was sorry I hadn't packed my leather jacket because my light jacket wasn't quite warm enough for my comfort. In June 2006, I had witnessed the most unbearable heat that I had ever experienced (keep in mind that I live in Israel !), and I would have been totally miserable if I had been staying in a hotel w/o a/c.

I like having air conditioning that time of year. Even if it's not hot, it likely will be warm enough to want to open the windows to cool off the apartment. That's fine during the day, but even the occasional car or motorcycle can make enough noise to keep you awake at night. I like being able to shut the windows at night and have the apartment comfortably cool for sleeping.
Glad to have another Red Sox fan on the forum!

janetnj - I thought the "nj" at the end of your username meant you were from New Jersey, hence a potential dreaded Yankees fan. Glad to see it ain't so. 2011 looks like it could be a good year for the Sox.

She was..well is..from NJ ..but has strange taste..and that is putting it mildly ..when it comes to sports teams. (the bottom half of NJ tends to affilate more with Phillie than NY..poor souls..the Boston and Minnesota(!?) thing......... I can say this because we've met a couple of times and other than the above... ..think she is quite a lovely person! ;D Hi Janet! Go J-E-T-S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geordy(aka "dreaded Yankee fan"..fanatic, born fan, the world is on it's axis when Yanks win..etc.

Geordy - thanks for the kind words! FMT - I'm from southern NJ which associates with Philadelphia. For me, anything north of Atlantic City is north Jersey. I like the Phillies and the Eagles. But I lived in Boston when I first got out of college and fell in love with the Red Sox.
And back to the original post - to play it safe I would try to get air conditioning.
