It is not an address for the foodies in our group but nevertheless Les Bonnes Soeurs have a great “rapport qualité prix” (I do not know the equivalent in English Help Truffaut, Gitte?) Pictures of nuns, old Paris and old objects make for a fun and simple décor. The service made by women was efficient and enjoué.
Located just a stone’s throw for the beautiful Place des Vosges, at 8 rue du Pas de la Mule, this small unpretentious restaurant have a great selection of entrées, plats and dessert. We where four convives, including one French vegetarian (yes it does exist!!) and everyone was please with their selection.
We started with 4 house cocktails (fruits juice and volka), For starter I pick a Saint-Marcellin chaud vinaigrette au miel, for plat a filet de Bar with a ginger and cider cream and for dessert a fresh ananas. Simply delicious. The other selection at our table where a chèvre pressé au poivron, a tuna ceviche, and a small salad. There was for plats: a curry d’agneau, a risotto, a fried vegetable with mozzarella. As I mentioned everyone tasted everyone else selection and all meals were good. THey did told me that the menu and carte are often changing but they seems to care for a fresh selection and quality produces.
For drinking we pick a Cabardès from Languedoc-Roussillon, deep red and very full body for as little as 22 Euros. The total bill for 4 cocktails, 4 entrées, 4 plats and 4 dessert, 4 coffes, a bottle of water and wine was 186 Euros, so for 46 Euros a person a real steal.

"Rapport qualité prix" = "value for the money"

Mmmm, thanks Luc! I'll add Les Bonnes Soeurs to my list of vegetarian-friendly places to eat.
I love that neighborhood. We were lucky enough to stay at the Pavillon de la Reine on Place des Vosges for our 25th anniversary.

Merci Luc - that goes straight into my list of restaurants - which I never get to use, because it's too big to carry around....... BUT I maintain it meticulously !!

It just went on one of my lists....about a third of a booklet of blue post-its! Started that one before the Feb. trip! It goes in a section of my purse along with my little journal..which has stuffed in it other lists and small clippings. When seated at a cafe terrasse I peruse them and act like we have all the time in the world! Like the idea of the nuns and the food and price sound good!

This really looks interesting and a fun place for lunch. Does it serve lunch? I know we will be in that area at least once to spend some time around Place des Vosges. Thanks.
