Hi all, Just wanted to check in to say hello. I am happy to say that I am not suffering from PPD, although the related disorder, PFD, is just as bad ;D We had a wonderful, fabulous trip to Lyon, Provence (that stop was short but sweet), and Nice. Lyon was a sweet surprise. We LOVED it. Of course the nice warm fall weather helped...we had glorious weather the whole trip. But we really felt at home there. the people were nice and it felt like we were the only English speaking tourists! Our Bed and Breakfast was as nice as it looked in the pictures. It was 80 e per night for a lovely clean room, and this was the breakfast room! We wandered all over the city. which is walkable, with the exception of the uphill neighborhoods that we named Lyon Stairmaster. But the hike uphill was worth it as the view from the city was fabulous. We went spent a great morning at the Roman ruins above the city...really spectacular to be able to see the ruins in the original environment. We also enjoyed the Old Town and the Croix Russe neighborhood, where the silkworkers lived. We also went to the Resistance and Deportation museum, which was informative and moving. But, we especially LOVE Lyon for the food. The bouchons were so much fun...we spent a great night at Chez Paul, talking and laughing and eating a family-style meal with our French table-mates. The market at Les Halles was out of this world. We learned all about the wonderful Lyonnaise cuisine, and vowed to return for more eating and sightseeing adventures!

Welcome home! Missed you. Somehow I knew you'd like Lyon if only for the food. I can't believe you walked up the hill , we took the funicular and walked down...that was bad enough.

I'm not at all surprised that you're suffering from PFD, Sis, because your trip was obviously a superb experience. Wishing you many more fabulous trips........
