I know you all have a favorite place to dine on an outdoor terrace in Paris. Let's start a list. My favorite is Cafe L'Homme at the Trocadero staring at the Eiffel Tower all night!!! Plus dining on wonderful food.

I'm no help--all my trips to Paris have been in the winter and it's been too cold to sit outside! But I'm anxious to hear what everyone else has to say!

I like any place you can see the Eiffel Tower twinkle on the hour!

We just had a delightful Sunday lunch at Le Marche on place du Marché St-Catherine. I had asparagus with a nice hollandaise served alongside a coddled egg, and then magret roasted with lavender honey, cardamom and sesame and served with sauteed roseval potatoes and pleurottes. G enjoyed an entrée of sliced tomatoes with fresh mozarella and basil oil, followed by grilled lamb chops served the same potato and mushroom mixture I had. Along with a cinquante of quite decent Chinon, the bill was about 60 euros--a good value for the quality of the food and the pleasant environment.

Actually, Truffaut is a very nice person, as you all know, and he did not write a review just to not embarass me after all the ravings I have made about LPC. The reason is simple : he has been disappointed...He chose the 75 euros menu and had some of the same things that I had : ris de veauand langoustine. He found the ris de veau quite good, but his langoustine ravioles were undercooked, etc. But the main problem for him was that you cannot choose what you want with all 3 menus : they are "tasting menus" so you have to take what is written on the menu. They are quite flexible : my hubby could change the ris de veau for a rack of lamb, But our Truffaut did not dare asking for changes. Good things : he loved the service and the decor. Better than nothing !! Well, Ian, if you maintain your reservation , it will be very interesting to have your opinion !!
