We have invited our two daughters and their husbands, and our only grandchild to visit us in Paris next year. Our granddaughter will stay on the boat with us, and we are looking for an apartment that will be as close to our boat as possible for the others. Our barge is on the Blvd Bourdon side of our port and the closest stairway to come down to our boat has an address because we share it with the RATP. That address is 34, bd Bourdon, so we are looking for the closest 2 bedroom apartment to that address. So far, the closest apartment that we have found is on Bd de la Bastille, just across from our captain's office, and we will look at that apartment on the 30th. It looks good, but I was just wondering if someone knows of another nice 2 bedroom closer to our barge. Here is the bd de la Bastille apartment. We like the fact that it has a view of the Eiffel Tower way off in the distance, just so the kids will know that they are indeed in Paris: www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p90404?uni_id=76950 or tinyurl.com/3amln3kDoes anyone know of an apartment that would be even closer to our barge?

Oops, I forgot to add that this apartment at 1800€/week is at the very tip top of our budget. We started out looking for, and found several apartments not too far from the port for much less money, but this one looks so nice it made us think about having everyone close rather than focusing on the amount of money we would be spending. This will be a family reunion, so we want everything to be as nice as possible, but without breaking the bank.

Oh Jody, "You make me feel so young"; (Imagine that song being sung.) My little baby granddaughter somehow became 20, and we have no idea how that happened.
She came to visit two years ago when she was 18, and after staying on the boat for awhile, the three of us went off to Ireland together. It was wonderful, and we look forward to having her come back to stay with us again next year.
We went to see the apartment last week, and it is just as advertised. It is well furnished, has two large and almost equal in size bedrooms, is clean and has a pretty good view of the Eiffel tower that is much closer than I would have expected. It is a very cool apartment, and we think our kids will be thrilled to stay there.
Sunday, the owner came to our boat and we signed the contract. She is a very charming French woman, and she and her family live in the same building, so that seems to be another plus. She couldn't have been nicer, and I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a two bedroom apartment in a great neighborhood.

20!!! I didn't think your kids were much over that!1 Apt spunds lovely! Wish I could get my cousin and his wife to Paris. But they both have mothers who require a lot of care and don't get much help from other family members! And they would both so love it. It breaks my heart

Jody, it is too bad that your cousins can't make the trip to Paris. Everyone should come to this wonderful city at least once.
We have been here for 4 years now, and we are still thrilled by the beauty and charm of this city.
