Magic, a new one on me, will check that out!
Actually, if anyone has any specific tips for possible journalism story ideas, ideal for Uk titles, the more unusual the better, that would be great, as I will be in Paris this time next weekend for Rock en Seine! I have posted my call elsewhere on here so hope it's ok to repeat it in case anyone missed it.
Very happy to meet up with a few fellow Paris lovers while I'm there too. I am a friendly, fun, laidback British guy in my mid thirties and mostly normal! Pls reply or msg me if you want to meet up for a few hours.
I won't be at the festival for the duration as I want to explore some parts of the city I've not been to yet, like Canal St Martin, so just dipping in and out for the bands I want to see.
Thanks Jools
P.S how does one get notifications on new posts to threads you've commented on here pls?

Hey thanks Jody, i thought I did that already though, hm, will try again!
And thanks for the tip too, but looking more for topical things I guess, new attractions, new & unique places to eat/drink, public art, something a bit unusual like that.
Cheers Jools

Ever been to Musee de Plein Air? I never see it mentioned / It's along the Seine near Jardin des Plantes. I always see Thai Chi classes and dancing there

On the west side of the Canal St Martin, you might enjoy a good, inexpensive, meal at L'Atmosphere. I had a nice lunch there and would definitely go back. Note for the ladies here: This resto has a squat toilet. Not a problem for me but I know not everyone appreciates them.

How about interviewing the men who gather each week-end to play petanque on the Champs de Mar? Petanque is really takingoff around here too

Thanks Jody, would be worried that my French would not be up to that, though I guess most will speak English?

Thanks Darcy, it rings a bell, are there more than one of them? Will check it out anyway. Hope to explore Villette and maybe Parc Monceau or Buttes Chamont this time around.

L'Atmosphere is at 49 rue Lucien Sampaix on the west side of the canal. A google search didn't come up with any other locations.
Jo, 'whatsonwhen' is a great resource, I've been using it for years too. Glad you found it.

Darcy, you know what, I walked past it just 5 mins after having my lunch at another place along the Canal, La Marine I think it was. I had very nice porc mingon with the creamiest mash there. I enjoyed the canal walk, went all the way to le Periphique in the end! Villette Science Park was interesting and Buttes de Chamont a real revelation, a picture perfect park! Als Square Monthlon near the hotel in the 9th was idyllic. Oh and Rock en Seine was a very impressive festival too. Lots of space, very good atmos and superior food options, again in a lovely park setting. Back to rainy old Edinburgh now though
