Hi guys,
First of all we hope that the GTG goes well and you all enjoy the walk to build up your appetites and the meal which I am sure will be great. Stella and I really wish we were there with you all for the first time but hopefully next year.
We have sort of narrowed down our ideas of apartments for 2011 to" Rooftop Vista" from Gail, "Constance" from Frenchie and "Les Batignolles" from Homelidays.
Has anyone ever stayed in any of these apartments and if so did you like them. Are these companies OK? any probs?
Thanking you all in advance.
George

Have rented twice from Gail and love her agency and the promptness of her replies. Have not stayed in the Roof top Vista but I seem to recall that Gitte did stay there.
The Frenchie Agency has been well recommended. Know nothing about Homelidays.

You would LOVE RooftopVista ! It's just around the corner from Abbesses metro. I was there in June 2007 and it was incredible. From the kitchen window you have the full view to the south, including Notre Dame, Panthéon etc. lit up in the dark. To the east you have Sacré Coeur as your neighbour, in the evening you will have the shining white lit-up dome for your bedside lamp. Trust me, you will find yourself hanging in the window sill for over an hour, just staring at that white dome, heaving big, romantic sighs. The pictures in PerfectlyParis's website do not lie - that is in fact the view you get. Year 2007 was before my camera days, so these are taken with my mobile phone out the window. And needless to say, Gail Boisclair is the sweetest, most reliable, most helpful landlady you will ever come across. Frenchy Rentals is run by Paula, another member of the Montmartre "girl gang". 110% reliable, just like PerfectlyParis. "Constance" is in a lively area, on a quite sidestreet just off Rue Lepic (downhill from Abbesses), with only a 3 minutes walk down to Place Blanche and the metro. Also there is bus line 30 running on the boulevard to take you to Arc de Triomphe. Rue Constance ends in an adorable dead end called Impasse Marie Blanche. At the end you will find the cutest, quirkiest rose-pink "château" - with turrets and all. The third Montmartre "girl gang" member is Yetunde, who runs FeelsLikeHomeinParis - www.feelslikehomeinparis.com - beautiful apartments too, and with the same personal, high quality service. These girls are personal friends and work together, even if they are competitors, e.g. they refer clients to each other to find whatever suits the client best.

Hi Gitte, Thank you for your reply and pictures from Rooftop Vista. It made our minds up and we have booked up for two weeks next October. I hope that when everyone is planning 2011 GTG they will remember that there will be another two for dinner. My old Scottish Grandmother would never book anything in advance unless she said "If we are Spared" So, with that proviso I hope you are well and keep well until we see you next year and thank you once again.

Oh I am very happy to hear that, George. If the towel rack still hangs on to the wall, remember I was the one who fixed it with superglue ! BTW, I forgot to tell that you will have one of Paris's baguette-prize-winning bakeries just around the corner. Wonderful bakery. Their "Carré aux Raisins" will blow you away. Big enough for 2 to share, but why should you........ ;D As to 2011 I can't say anything yet. Now that I have become a homeowner, my budget is a lot tighter than it used to be, so next year it will probably only be Paris during Easter and then Samos for the summer hols.

Hi Gitte,
That is great. Even if they go down a bit before next October I am sure that their baguettes will still be well worth the trip.
