Just a heads up that the September/October schedule for the Meeting the French tours are now up. en.meetingthefrench.com/category/meet-parisians-work_7.htmWe're thinking of redoing the Gerard Mulot tour with our friends on September 30 and the Au Grand Richelieu Bakery Tour on October 8. The only thing better than chocolates and macarons are free chocolates and macarons (well, relatively free, it's 12 euros for the tour, but I look at it that my 12 euros pays for the guided tour and anything else I get is a bonus, hence, free! ;D ) Jo

Oddly enough I just said to my husband this morning"We need to book a meet the French tour for our November trip." We both enjoyed the Gerard Mulot tour so much I wouldn't mind doing it again. The Merat-Auger workshop looks interesting. I'm very tempted by the leather goods one there. Might need my platnum card if I do that though. My weekness for handbags ect.

We did both tours in July Jo, and enjoyed them. The elderly baker at Au Grand Richelieu was quite the flirt with my 78 year old mom (quoting my 16yr. old niece "he's coming on to grandma!") The free samples are yummy!

There's a cute kitty at that bakery. Sandy, Gitte and I enjoyed playing with her.

I don't recall whether I have already made this suggestion in June/July, but during our Paris visit in May my wife and I spent a delightful 3+ hours walking around the 17e (a new neighborhood for us where we had decided to rent an apartment) with Ann and Michel from Paris Greeters. They were informative about the neighborhood, about the French, and about life. The "greeters" are all volunteers, so you don't know who will be your companions, but if they are anything like Anne and Michel, you will have a great time. www.parisiendunjour.fr/index.php?lang=en

I am glad you booked the tours.
I have done the bakery tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. And yes, the elderly baker is quite a flirt!

I enjoyed the bakery as well...I asked the baker why he was dressed in black and he admitted he was mostly retired! And yes quite the flirt!
