Ever since planning our upcoming trip I have been yearning for Bertillon sorbet. 45 days seems like an eternity to wait. I know that Shoesy knows the feeling too. Today I walked into a market in Palo Alto, CA and there was a note on one freezer doors announcing a new sorbet - Seattle Sorbet. 5 flavors including Champagne and Cabernet. No fat, no cholesterol, low sugar and carbs. Pretty good stuff. I think it will do until I get back to Paris in September.

Randy - Hardly a day goes by when I don't think about strolling around Ile St. Louis with a B. cone.

Randy, How long are you going to be in Paris? It has been a long time since our GTG in San Francisco. By the way, that resto is now closed. The chef retired (how dare him!!) -Lilia

Hello Framboise,
Thanks for your post.
We arrive on September 22 and depart September 26. A short visit but it will be followed by a small boat down the Rhine and a stay in Prague.
What are your plans ?

I'm sorry that we will miss you , Randy. We are arriving on the 28th and going back to SF on October 14th. We'll just hang out in Paris. No plans for any side trip.
You'll enjoy the river cruise. I remember doing the Danube from Melk to Krems with the kids and enjoyed the old library in Melk. Haven't been to Prague but I know it is an old, medieval city full of castles - old river towns are always fun places to visit.
-Lilia

Maybe another year; if not in Paris there is always lunch in San Francisco. With my retirement and Anne retiring next year our time will be our own (minus grandchildren). We have traveled by small boat in Scotland, Russia, from Amsterdam to Budapest and three canal barge trips in France. For us this is most relaxing.

Randy, where did you find an Amsterdam to Budapest cruise or the other way around. I've been looking for ages and can't find that itinerary

I know you will have a wonderful time. Before the ship takes off from Amsterdam they will probably take you to the Kruller- Mueller Museum. A highlight for us. As you head south the ship will be able to dock right at the edge of town so you don't lose time getting to all the wonderful things that await you. We loved the concert in Vienna. As for Budapest, the other side of the river from where the ship is docked (over this gorgeous bridge) is the place to explore. If you are into cooking (ha ha) leave room in your suitcase for Hungarian Paprika. God, I sound like a travel agent; a ha, now that I'm a retired photographer maybe that could be a second career.
