While in Barnes and Noble Bookstore today I came upon a book entitled La Patisseries. Many wonderful recipes and color photographs. While standing there looking through the book I gained 5 pounds.

Randy - I think I gain weight just by thinking about macarons. ;D

I wonder who the author is. You don't by any chance remember, Randy? I only ask because it's difficult for me to believe a patisserie book got past my notice

Hi Happygoin, The book is about 5x5, soft pink cover. I'll be up at the bookstore soon and I'll get the author's name for you.

Randy, I was thinking you were talking about this one, but it's not pink so I'm stumped and want to know, too!

Thanks for hunting it down again, Randy! I think I'll have to pick up a copy of that one sometime--the photos do look mouthwatering! While checking out this book on Amazon the other day, I could read the index of their recommended patisseries in the 5th, and while researching them...one thing lead to another...you know how that goes! . I eventually discovered that one of the boulangeries by our apartment placed 2nd in the Grand Prix de la Baguette this year! (La Parisienne, at the corner of Cardinal Lemoine and rue Monge, next to the fire station). I wish that was the one I can see from my window...but alas, it's only steps away, so I will be doing my own research in October! ;D

Annette - I can just see you grinning as you typed that last post ! That's how I feel about sorbet. BTW - I had mango sorbet with dinner tonight. Didn't hold a candle to Berthillon but it's the only prep I am going to have.
