Hello I am new to the forum and I am going to Paris in September. This is my second trip. I went last year but this time I have decided to try an apartment.. Some of you refer to VIP rental service so checked them out. They do have so add on fees that others don't seem to or maybe you don't see the fees as they are built in. but I was wondering if anybody has stayed at either of these.... Also if you could point me to other places that would be appreciated. I want to stay in the #6 area near Norte d**n and Rue du Bucci Loved it there. But I am trying to stay open Please let me know of anything or what you know about these and VIP in general Thanks Mary www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_108.htmOr here: www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_237.htm

Not stayed in those but do like dealing with VIP> The only "hidden" charges I can recall is the key deposit that is very promptly returned when you send back the key and the rental insurance of around 20 Euro which beats a 500 Euro security deposit. I like having the key in advance and not having to meet a rep to let me in. Last year our train from Antwerp was delayed 4 hours so might have presented a problem.
We have stayed at the St Andre des Artes loft apt, I think 122, It was great , so convenient. Rue St Andre des Artes turns into Rue de Buci about a block down.
we are renting the Marias Garden Apt for October. It is also close to ND
I prefer the second apt. No way I could do that loft bed!!

I also prefer the second apartment better but I am in my 70s and could not do the loft either. But the second apartment has a small tub and a hand held shower which would drive me crazy.
But if you are young and agile you can probably work with either.

I just rented from VIP last month and was very happy with the service. I just got an e-mail today telling me they had received their key back and asking how I wanted the refund (through PayPal or by cheque).
We rented an apartment with a loft bedroom in 2008. My hubby was fine with it but I have to get up in the middle of the night (you know why!) and it was an issue climbing up and down those steep steps in the dark. Although we loved the location of the apartment, I wouldn't do that again.
FWIW, we rented # 179 with VIP and loved the location (right off Montorgeuil in the 2nd.)
Happy apartment hunting,
Jo
