The July 2007 issue of Food & Wine Magazine just arrived and while devouring it, came across an article on relatively new and/or re-opened restaurants in Paris. They seem an eclectic group and in several areas. I am including a listing of the restaurants and addresses as well as the F&W website for those who don't have or want access to the actual magazine. 21- 21 rue Mazarine, 6th Arr. 011-33-1-46-33-76-90 Le Saut du Loup- 107 rue de Rivoli, 1st Arr.- 011-33-1-42-25-49-55 Le Versance- 16 rue Feydeau, 2nd Arr. 011- 33-1-45-08-00-08 L'Orenoc- Le Meridien Etoile, 81 Blvd. Gouvion-Saint-Cyr, 17th Arr. 011-33-1-40-68-30-40 Rech-62 av.des Ternes, 17th Arr. 011-33-1-45-72-29-47 Restaurant Astier- 44 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 11th Arr. 011-33-1-43-57-16-35 Soleil- 153 rue de Grenelle, 7th Arr.- 011-33-1-45-51-54-12 Spring- 28 rue de la Tour d'Auivergne, 9th Arr.- 011-33-1-45-96-05-72 I have not eaten at any of these but some other posters may have details to add. If you can access the website at FOODANDWINE.COM you may be able to get some menu details that are in the article. The descriptions were interesting. Also listed as an "hot spot" is Sensing at 19 rue Brea, 6th Arr. 011-33-1-43-27-08-80 We plan on taking the list and as we do our rambles into the different areas it will give us some places to perhaps stop and eat at. We are just working on a walk in the 17th and we are staying in the 1st and plan on visiting the newly opened Musee des Arts Decoratifs which houses Le Saut du Loup. At any rate thought I would share this and hope it is of some use. Enjoy. Holger

What a great list! But with all the information (food, sites, shopping, etc., etc.) that been posted on this forum just in the last month or so, we would have to be in Paris for weeks to even scratch the surface! Oh wait, that would be a Good Thing, right?

Hi ! L'Orenoc is not really new, I am surprised that is is in this list. But I highly recommend it, I have been there twice and the food was awesome. It is located in the Meridien Etoile hotel.
Le saut du loup is located in the Newly re-opened Museum of Decorative Arts (in one of The Louvre aisles). I have been there for lunch and took a salad, but it was a very good one!
Spring is THE new restaurant to go. The Chef is a young American called Daniel Rose, it is open only in the evening and you cannot chose the menu. The Chef changes it daily according to what he found at the market. It has an amazing press coverage here in France. Reservation needed weeks in advance !

holger, I can't believe that issue of F&W has been sitting on my counter, and I haven't even looked at it yet. Thanks for the heads up!
We do have reservations for Astier next month, so I will be able to report back on that one.

Astier is delightful. Luc, G and I ate there twice on our last trip--once for dinner and once for lunch. The food is very traditional and good without being "over-the-top this is incredibly good". Much of it served family style.
The cheese course, however, IS "over-the-top incredibly good"! I've never seen as many cheeses on a single platter. I seem to recall that we were served 27 of them at dinner and about 20 at lunch. Save room!
