Got caught in the swarm of police cars, vans and other security along rue Rivoli this afternoon as Putin came into town. Funny how none of the police would tell us who was here (they'd hint it was a "famous person of the world") but the shopkeepers all knew who it was

Shopkeepers always know and share, trust me. In college I worked in a small enclave of artist boutique shops, they always knew everything going on all around town and if you mentioned someone, they knew all their business and their shoe size, as my manager liked to say.

Paris is a state of mind, and I am sure I left my mind in Paris, so we're all set, non?
