Hi Truffaut or Luckyluc,

Someone called Janeyl is posting spam on many threads. Please remove these if possible. Is there anything that can be done to make this person stop?

I emailed both Loc and Truf and Luc has taken care of it. It was some kind of automatic dialer or some such. I did love Gertie's response to it though. " She didn't know there was so much spam served at Beauvais airport!!!"

There is a new spammer who appeared on most categories with the same message. is there a way to indicate this to a moderator without having to take each individual piece of spam and report it separately?

Holger there is a report to moderator link at the bottom of post. I reported it earlier this morning

I also reported all of these. But had to do them individually. Hopefully they will get them removed and also remove this person as a member.

I just deleted the LV postings and the nefarious fiend behind them. Let me know if something else pops up.

Now another one--Junye on almost every topic with the same irritating dumbness.
Is there no way to control this?

There's really nothing that can be done to prevent spammers. The only way to address it is to manually remove the postings and ban the posters.

OK. But could this happen as quickly as possible. However, there are still some of Janyue's posts up. These spammers seem to join and then produce their spam so I would suggest that once their spam is removed, they are also banned. This might not stop the spam initially but it would do a "clean up." It would also remove the individual from the site and the membership roster quickly. Is their any "probationary period?"

It is amazing that people have the time to go through and add their nonsense to almost every topic area. OPF may be more vulnerable to this than some other sites like slow travel as I haven't found the spam issue there.

Holger that is exactly what we are doing, the spammer is banned at the same time we are removing their spam. You just have to remember that we both have full time job and sometime other priorities!
