Annette's recent purchase got me thinking about the possibility of buying an apartment. Where can I go to learn more about it. Are there websites, books, publications, etc.?
I wouldn't do this immediately, but I'd like to understand more about it so I can figure out if this is a realistic possibility for me.
Thanks!

Janet, try any or all of these: www.expatica.com/fr -- there's several pages about buying property in france. www.angloinfo.com -- complete information for Anglophones www.frenchpropertynews.com -- a great magazine aimed at British property owners, but with excellent information for all. Check out their online bookstore -- some excellent guides to buying and owning property in France. Napoleonic law is very different than US law -- and it's important to understand the implications BEFORE signing on the dotted line. You can also buy this magazine in the US -- I used to find it at Barnes & Noble -- and subscriptions are not too terribly expensive. And a good international tax accountant. You'll need one, as you'll be liable for French tax on anything you own..

Thanks sunshine. I looked at expatica and it has a lot of good information. I'll read the others as well.
Thanks so much!
