I'm sorry, Gitte. I know I'm hijacking this post, Gitte. But can you (anyone?) tell me if it's necessary to purchase tickets to the Folies Bergeres in advance? And, if so, can it be done online or otherwise from the US? Thanx, HG

Tickets for Cabaret , the current show at the Folies Bergère are only available until July 14th. You should check the FNAC website under "spectacles" in a month or so to see if there is a prolongation. Since the show was a succes it would not surprise me. Currently the next production at the Folies is not announced.
I never was at Julien, but I do known that is it part of the Flo Brasserie group so a standard quality is garuantied. The decor is, like the Train Bleu, classified as a historical momunent.

happy I suggest you buy your tickets with Top Ticket Line as I did. They are super to deal with and you can choose the "fee-free" ticket to be picked up at the theatre 45 min. before the show. www.topticketline.fr/

Oh Luc, that would be really exciting if they extended it. I don't know what the chances of them extending to year-end, when I'll be there, but Cabaret is one of my very favorite shows. Thanks!

Gitte, if I'm reading the website correctly, Cabaret has been extended through year-end. I am so excited as I just love Cabaret! Thanx for the ticket info. (Throw a healthy splash of Creme de Cassis in that champagne...love those Kir Royales )

Well, Luc. I think I must have a bad case of mal de tete today. I could not have possibly made that up. My French just isn't that good! I saw the words "prolongations a partir de 1er Janvier" on one of the Cabaret screens, but I can't find it now. I'll keep looking, but if you hear something, I'd love to know. Thanx

>>prologations à partir de 1er Janvier<< means >>prolongations starting FROM the 1st January<< - not running UNTIL the 1st January. >>Avec plus de 160 000 spectateurs à ce jour, près de 200 représentations et des prolongations jusqu’au 14 juillet 2007 aux Folies Bergère<< = With more than 160 000 specators up to now, almost 200 shows and prolongations until the 14th July 2007 at Folies Bergére...... Look: www.cabaret-lemusical.fr/infosbilleterie.htmSorry to disappoint you. As to the Cassis-thing: yes, maybe. But on an evening like that I prefer champagne "naturel".

Is this the one behind Madeleine Metro? If so, it's totally oridinary food, certainly nothing worth going out of your way. We saw it a few times and like its look, so had dinner there a year or so ago (don't recall excatly which trip). My recollection is that it was very tourist oriented in the sense of a predictable menu and large portions, tables very crammed together, and none of the diners speaking French. I certainly would not go back.

Hi berkeleytravelers ! No, this one is in Rue du Faubourg St. Denis in the 10th arr. It is part of the "Flo"-chain which owns several of the spectacular brasseries from La Belle Époque. And it's quite close to Folies Bergère. Look: www.julienparis.com/I am planning to go there partly for the décor - partly for the decadent experience of eating dinner at such a late hour (around 22:30-23:00)

I'm sure you will enjoy it...and the Champagne!
