Sounds like I'll be buying a few books in May when I'm in Paris with my daughter! I am still beating myself over not buying Murder in the Latin Quarter last May when we were there, but I thought I could buy it in Canada once we got back. It's still not out here last time I checked at the Chapters in Montreal over the Christmas holidays. I may just reread all the previous books just to remind me where Aimee is once I get the new ones!
Thanks for sharing this............Jo

While we were wandering the pretty deserted streets of the 7th in the dark and cold....I thought ..this is a very nice area and this is a very safe City...then I recalled all the mayhem that goes on in the books.......
Similar to when we were in the Marais in September.....and I thought.."this is why she set her first book here!"

Hi Geordy Cara here...I haven't set a book in the 7th yet...you're so right about the quiet. But Murder in the Palais Royal harkens back to the crime in the Marais investigated in my first book... Happy reading...Cara

I just saw this post. Thanks cigalechanta for the info. I recently started reading Cara Black's books and as soon as I finish one I'm on to the next. Right now I'm Reading "Murder in Montmartre". Two more arrived yesterday from Amazon. I think I'll be caught up by the time the new one comes out in March. They sure help with PPD

I've read all of them except for Murder in Clichy. Sorry Cara, they all were borrowed from the Library. My three "suspend disbelief" categories are (1) Aimee's exceptional capacity to climb up slippery roofs, pick locks, etc.; (2) the size of her amoire/closet that contains a "costume" for every possible occasion; and (3) the presence of immigrant, etc. squats inside so many courtyards in almost every area of old Paris--although perhaps this last one is, in fact, completely true.

Just picked up four Cara Black books from our neighborhood public library: Sentier, Montmartre, Rue de Paradis and Latin Quarter. Looking forward to reading them all.

Murder at the Palais Royal just arrived from Amazon today. But the DK book on Brittany came in the same package and I am reading that first.
Since we will probably be snowed in again on Wednesday, I'll get to the other then.
