I think the announcement was made last week, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Who won "meilleure baguette de Paris" this year?

Dans le 18eme! Now that will be a bit far for the regular tourism from St-Germaineeeee. You will have to go visit Kasthor and tell us your opinion.

18th? Hä? which airline must I take? Sorry but that's way too far from the eiffel tower for me... No seriously, if I get a chance I will give it a go, I'm super fussy about bread so it might be a good address!

We have the 2004 and the 2005 winners, both within a block of our apartment. So, we're a little spoiled.

Along these lines (bread...but maybe I should start a new thread?)...just about a block behind the d'Orsay, straight out that little street directly behind the right side of the museum, is a boulangerie/patisserie on the corner. It has the best full-grain bread! We enjoyed some with some nice cheeses we bought last fall and I can't remember the name of it. Any takers or do I have to make a special trip just to look??

I looked on a map last night and it would seem to be on the corner of rue Bellechasse and blvd St Germain. I'm just wondering if it's known as any kind of extraordinary boulangerie or not. We enjoyed Kaiser bread as well as Poujorain (sp) and a few really ordinary ones, but the whole grain one at this boulangerie was outstanding. Of course, it's all very subjective...

Hmm, I don't know what boulangerie that might be. I'm just not all that familiar with that neighborhood (except when I'm playing tourist ).
