I'm apartment hunting again. I think I've narrowed it down to VIP #79. Just wondering what you all think. I like the area, although a little close to Rue St. Denis. It has an elevator and a washing machine. Chairs for relaxing and cable TV.
Thanks, Suzanne

Suzanne, I really like this place. I just last month walked around this area and, personally, I would have no concerns. The kitchen is well-equipped (4 burners, an oven, espresso machine, etc.) if you like to cook. It looks fresh and clean and I like the artwork. You'd be close to some great markets and cafes on the rue Montorgueil. Good north/south and east/west Metro lines. I can't see a problem. Bonne chance! Mary

Thanks Mary,
We've stayed in this area before and know it pretty well. I really like Rue Montorguiel. I'm planning a weekend in Lyon before a week in Paris so I was looking for an easy way to get from Gare Lyon. This looks like a good option for that. Also I think the price looks good especially as it is in US dollars.

Just got an e-mail offering a small discount for being a repeat customer. So that seals the deal.

I do too, Jody. They gave me a small discount this fall as well. I really love that apt, Suzanne. Great price! I can't imagine you not being happy there. Go for it!

I have looked at this apartment before becaause I love the area around rue Montorguiel. I have stayed there several times. You stay in a quiet street, but you can step out of your front door and be in the heart of a buzzing real Paris street with shops, cafes, everything you could want. Here is the link for others. www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_79.htmDon't worry about the proximity of rue St Denis, they are two completly separate areas and don't overlap.... In any case rue St Dennis is innocuous enough. Just a few girls waiting on corners and some sex clubs at the bottom. You may even find yourself walking down for curiosity as we did. I think the Pigalle area is much more tacky. Denise love from England

Hi Denise, We've stayed in the area before and really liked it there. I think I was concerned about late night noise being so close to the clubs on St. Denis. You are right it is nothing like Pigale, which now that I'm getting old and jaded doesn't look so bad to me anymore. Last time I was on St. Denis I saw lots of teenagers with skate boards and loud music. so I figured it could get noisy.
