:)I always love to read apartment reviews. It's a bit like those house programmes like "location, location, location" (do you get that in other countries?) I think it appeals to the nosyness in me to see how other people live!! This apartment looks lovely. Very good and comprehensive review. I'm glad you included the building and the entrance. One for the bookmark. I am so glad it turned out alright for you in the end. Thanks Denise

Mossie, my kids had a heyday with that one, too It appeared to be a bar, but was closed for remodeling. The green storefront to the left of Crepe en L'Isle was a little mysterious to me--it had absolutely no signage and was quiet throughout the day, but at night it was frequently full of men having a drink (don't recall seeing any ladies). I had wondered if it was a private club, or perhaps one of the establishments only known to locals by word of mouth.

Guess I must be purer of mind than I gave myself credit for!
I saw that sign and thought of the old television show...I understand why that wouldn't be your first thought though, Mossie.

Lovely report on the apartment. I'm really impressed with the kitchen and bathroom in that place. The location appears to be excellant too.

I remember seeing the Beaver on our first trip to Paris when we stayed on Ile St Louis. I'm pretty sure it is a Canadian sports bar. We kept meaning to drop by to see if we could meet any fellow Canadians but just never got around to it.
Annette, your apartments looks wonderful and I loved your view. Ours looked onto an empty courtyard this year and we missed looking at and seeing people strolling. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed the apartment so much and really glad to hear that GAS standards haven't changed - I haven't needed them for three or more years and was becoming concerned that my experiences weren't sufficiently recent to let me keep recommending them. (Love the bathrobes and slippers, that's one of my personal markers of a really good hotel or apartment!) Thanks for posting a review.
