I've cross posted this elsewhere, so this is certainly another appropriate place to bring to your attention the outrageous (and sometimes almost normal) prices charged for a cola on the Champs Elysées. Here is my report: tinyurl.com/q7uzqo

That post just earned you an exalt! I hope you didn't actually order and drink all that soda! You'd bloat and float from that much

I wouldn't dream of drinking a soda anywhere on the Champs Elysées except at Quick or McDonald's!

Enjoyed this trip..though I don't drink colas here or in Paris normally .. but actually having a Coke Zero I got for free at a street faire with some rum and lime at the moment! Appreciated your comments about Cafe Madrigal..it was one of my favorite places for many years..beginning in 1993..when staying near there. A few years back they changed the look, menu, waiters, and as you said. George V always had grumpy waiters and traditional grub..now..upscaled as well. It is the Champs..so ..willing to pay a bit more for the people watching..but ...not when it is all chains or misdirected "upscalings"

I would have liked to read that report also, but it seems to have vanished.

I wouldn't dream of drinking a soda anywhere on the Champs Elysées except at Quick or McDonald's! Why would you even dream of drinking one at all!! Have you learned nothing, Frenchman?!
