Yes, Katharine....by jove, you've got it! A jolly leap and swim in the Seine would cool a person off pronto! I will have to take a look/see at current Paris temps.

Ugh. Thanks, but I'll let you all swim in the Seine -- it's dirty and polluted, and while it might not kill you, there are no guarantees that you wouldn't emerge with a third eye and scales.

How about taking a dip at Piscine Joséphine Baker. The swimming pool actually floats in the Seine, so you have somewhat the impression of swimming in the river, though you're really in a complete enclosed swimming pool.
