What are you planning to visit and what is the ritual you miss the most and that you will indulge on your first next day in Paris?
For me I promise myself to visit le musée de la vie romantique (actually a friend is leaving in two weeks and she will go in exploration for me) and I terribly miss my morning grand crème with Truffaut at Georgette's.

Certainly, the mornings with LuckyLuc chez Georgette rank high on the list. Of course, the early evenings with Jérôme at Open Café aren't bad, either!

Since I have never been to Paris with the same person more than once...no one can keep affording to go as often ...I love walking out to get the morning croissants. I am an early riser and I go when most of the city is still sleeping. It's a grand time to be out walking. My favorite, in fact.

Oh! Happy change your set of friends! I could not agree with you more, early morning walk and in my case very late night (which is sometimes the same time!) walk are great. I really enjoyed looking at the light in the buildings, only hearing the noise of my feet on the pavés and feeling that the beauties of Paris are only for me at that precise moment.

Luc, I just posted to someone else that I am looking for a rich husband with one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. That way I can go as often as I like...

happy wants a sugar daddy!!! me, too, me too! When we come to Paris we always head to the nearest cafe for a creme and a croissant. The best is coming home on Sunday mornings and geting to go to our pal Armand's cafe where we hang out with all the marchands fromt eh bio market, inhale their second hand smoke and catch-up on neighborhood gossip with the regulars.

Isn't Trip Advisor completely pathetic? They can't possibly accept that formerly loyal users would want to carve out their own niche free from ridicule!
Happy, I agree about early mornings. My partner's not an early riser or a coffee lover, and I particularly enjoy getting up early and going out early for my café crème and a croissant. My usual morning place has recently changed ownership. They are now baking a wider variety of items (although they've gotten rid of my favorite chocolate-pistachio croissants), give away free samples, and sell coffee in "to go" cups. They also replaced all the circa 1960 bar stools with ripped vinyl covering with chic hard plastic designer stools. Of course, the new stools have already fallen apart and I miss the old ones with the sticky orange vinyl....

Gee, Truffault, are you sure they didn't hang a Starbucks sign over the door too? And yes, Phread, I want a sugardaddy. I just don't want him hangin around too long...

<< I just don't want him hangin around too long...>> Well, they often leave for hte younger woman anyway. Just hire a really gorgeous nurse, then sue him for half of everything.

Hi guys, can we get some action going here? Where's Jerome, maybe he could spark up this little blog a bit?

Hi guys, can we get some action going here? Where's Jerome, maybe he could spark up this little blog a bit? We're trying We need more visitors, though. Where are all the people who are tired of Trip Advisor and want something a little pithier?

Pithier...I like that! We do need to get a registration drive going here. This has the potential to be a really fun blog. Not to mention a great resource for all us Paris addicts...

Happy, there's not much we can do. Personally, I've chosen not to participate on Trip Advisor because of the way LuckyLuc was treated. So, I can't direct people toward this blog. Phread tried it and her post was summarily removed. I think it's going to take some continued efforts by readers who aren't "co-authors" to direct people here. I think the more readers we get, the greater our motivation to more frequently add articles and to participate on this forum. I'd also like to see the Live Chat Room get some action, but that's a trickier prospect since it all depends on people being online at the same time.

That's right Happy - I'm a real pither. Although I prefer to think of myself as "sassy" Now...let's return to "your next visit to Paris"... What airfare have you found?

Well, I saw $547 all last week on KLM. That's when I was going by myself. Then a girlfriend decided she needs a trip to Paris, so it looks like she's going. She will give me a definite answer by next week. Of course, if she decides not to go, the airfare will be $1,000 when I look again. Aaaarghh! I'd like to buy from Delta because I've got loads of frequent flyer miles and I'd upgrade to 1st class. But we'll have to watch those prices. Has Mom decided she needs a trip to Paris yet?? If I go by myself, I might ask Truffaut if his apartment is available that week. It looks lovely and I've never stayed in that area...

My mom REALLY wants to go (especially since I'm going to treat!)...but (not to get too personal, although I'm sure that others can relate in some way) - my stepdad has Parkinson's and is going downhill fast. He really can't be alone, but is still enough of himself to balk at having to stay with anyone (or having someone come in to stay with him). His daughter is hopeless. He's not up to traveling overseas either, or I'd just drag him and my husband along, even though I want this to be a girl trip. SO... we have to figure out some way to deal with all of that. I AM off the week between xmas and NY...I would LOVE to be able to hang out with you and eat macaroons and elcairs! I'm gonna keep on schemin' - that fare sounds good (I paid over $600 last year).

That is tough. My dad had MS, and it sounds like he and your FIL were cut from the same cloth. You admire their spunk while at the same time, worry to death about them. Can you work on the other sibling? A little guilt thrown about in the right places maybe? That would be so fun if you were in Paree the same as us/I am. And treating your mother! She must be over the moon!Scheme on, girl...
