I am about to go back to Paris, this time with my sister-in-law and my niece. It will be a first visit for both of them, and as you can imagine they have a lot of questions!
I am unsure about this one: will a 5 digits PIN code work on a parisian ATM. Funny enough that question never occurs to me since I use 4 digits.

I seem to recall that it must be four digits. But I am not sure. Barclays bank would be the one to call with that question as they are used to assisting foreigners.

Yes Luc, everywhere I've read says a pin needs to be 4 numbers, and no letters. So you get to be a tour guide again! No picky eaters this time, I hope!

Annette, non this time it is my brother's wife (not my spouse' sister) and their daughter so no language barrier and they are both escargots, cuisses de grenouilles, andouilette eaters!

That's great--being able to dine wherever you choose with no worries of finding plain food will make for a much more enjoyable experience!

I think that just about all of the ATM's in Paris now accept up to 6 digits. There may be some exceptions.
