June 6 to commemorate the invasion of Normandy.
The interesting note is the spin coming from Sarko's office. He'd asked Obama to come next week, around the G20 and NATO summits. But the White House made it clear that the Presidnet would not have time for that.
The local spin is that President Obama would only have time for an hour, so they've postponed the meet becuase htey would both like to spend more quality time together.
Sarko has invited the guy at least three times and keeps getting turned down. He wants to show the world that they are best buds but I think Obama gets his game.

I don't suppose he'll be joining OPF before his trip.

He will be in Strasbourg together with 26 other presidents/prime ministers on April 3 and 4 for the NATO Summit . The whole city will be under siege : schools closed (some of them turned into military headquarters), most businesses too, whole areas of the city locked with compulsory official passes for the inhabitants, train station and highway sections closed, etc ... The Strasbourgeois are NOT happy (although quite fatalist about this whole fuss), my mom keeps me posted with every new paranoid decision of the authorities ...

Wow. Cool. I wanna go to Strasbourg for those dates. Can you imagine? And the guys checking your "I live here" pass will be CRS dressed in their Ninja turtle gear. I've got to get me a press pass. On the other hand one well placed terrorist effort and the world is adrift...
