:)Yes I had a very enjoyable stay at Le Laumiere in January and would recommend it as a budget hotel. I would stay again. I have been meaning to get around to posting a review. The room was small, as usual in Paris, but it was very clean and comfortable. The plentiful buffet breakfast was good value at 8.50 euros. The ladies who run the hotel seemed eager to please and make you comfortable. The cost was 60 euros for the room at the front. I always take earplugs but it wasn’t noisy due to the double glazing. Here are my pictures. 1 2 2 3 4 5 6 Denise Love from England xx

Denise, is that hotel as spotless as it appears in your photos? That looks amazing for the price.
Our barge club is going to have another event this year up at le bassin de la Villette. Last time, 2007, it was a barge rally with 60 barges, really spectacular. This time the mayor of the 19th contacted our group to ask us to come back with about 30 barges to celebrate the 200th anniversary of le bassin. (Our Yacht Club Paris Bastille is going up in May to take part in the Fete du Nautisme and the DBA Barge Association is going in June.)
In 2007, people who were not staying on barges during the rally stayed at an Ibis near the basin, but it was more expensive than this hotel, and probably not as nice. So, we will look into Le Laumière for this next event.

Yes slowpoke it is as spotless as it looks, and as Wizard says, 3 stops from the Gare du Nord and the metro is just across the road. Very convenient. The hotel is also 5 minutes walk from parc de Buttes Chamont. I have a report from La bassin de la Villette and Cite des sciences de l'industrie waiting in the wings. Had a nice time there also. Just need enough time to finish it. Watch this space. Love Denise xx

Denise, your room, or rather your bathroom, is absolutely brilliant compared to the one I got at the Alhambra hotel in London ! And this was still a very decent budget hotel .

thanks Denise, that looks fabulous for the price. I really liked seeing that part of Paris on my last trip...if I end up going to Paris alone in October that goes on my short list! What a deal...
