I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to all the active members of this board. I have been quietly lurking for several days and have been reading all of your reports of Paris apartments. What an invaluable resource this is. Due in a large part to the information I got from here I have finally decided upon and reserved MY apartment in Paris for my family of 4 in June. We will be staying near Place de Vosges in www.vrbo.com/166715. The owner has been more than pleasant and patient with all my emailed questions and now it has been finalized! I hope to report positive feedback after our trip. Once again, thank you so much for your (quiet) help! Linda

Wow, that is a great location, and judging from the pictures well maintained and decorated. I always make a point to walk across Place des Vosges on my way home, that is my favorite place in Paris. And I often daydream about staying there....looking forward to your report.

1200 € is in fact a VERY fair price for 75 m2, outstanding location, 2 bedrooms, WiFi, free telephone, elevator and cleaning. Congratulations, looks GOOD !!

This is the same apartment I suggested to Chigalechanta a few weeks ago when she was looking for a 2 bedroom place. We have never stayed there but I had bookmarked it at one time when we were talking about visiting Paris with some friends of ours. It looks beautiful and I also found the price very reasonable.
Can't wait to read your thoughts on it when you get back. Have a wonderful trip..........Jo

There was a problem with her hyperlink. I've edited the posting to make it workable, so you shouldn't have any problems visiting the site.

Merci, Truffaut! I just clicked on it and I can get the e-site again! Oui, the address www.vrbo.com/166715 seems to work! Oh, it is charming! Especially the living and dining room and the view! (and of course, excellent location!). Bravo! Two bedroom apartments are not the easiest to find but this is truly a "find"! (the video is especially helpful to watch).

Terrific apartment and location. Only drawback for me would be the absence of a walk in shower. The sides of French tubs are two high for me to get in and out so I am limited to apartments that have stall showers. I had looked at this one on line and liked it a lot except for that.
Will be looking forward to your report.

What kind and encouraging words from all of you regarding "my" apartment. After looking at hundreds (!) I thought it looked fabulous for my family and reading your comments has confirmed that it is, indeed a "find." Yes, finding 2 bedrooms was tricky - we are coming with our 2 "adult" children and needed a comfy place for all to sleep. (Oh well - our son will have to sleep on the extra bed that the owner is putting in for us, but he seems to be able to pass out just about anywhere. . .!) And - AIR CONDITIONING! I know that some think it is not necessary in June, but we are from Arizona and the thought of no AC scares me to death! Even if we don't use it I will be so comforted just knowing it is available!
thanks, Trouffant for fixing my link.
Can't wait to let you know all about it when we return.
Linda

Linda - I'm with you on the A/C issue, which has caused a bit of an uproar here. My trip to Paris is also in June, and I wouldn't dream of staying in a place without it.

There's a possibility--though extremely remote--that you'll use your air conditioning in June, but perhaps it's worth your peace of mind.
Please, be sure to bring a heavy jacket with you to wear outdoors in June. Even in July, I've worn a heavy leather jacket and still nearly frozen to death during dinner on a terrasse. Hint, hint....cold/cool summer weather in Paris is why the entire fashion industry (men's and women's) constantly recommends summer sweaters, summer layering, summer scarves--all the things that would cause heatstroke in many parts of the US.

Truffaut, Good to know (weather in June wise) and rather interesting insight as to the love of scarves even in the warm months!

June 2006 was very hot and humid. I had brought what I would call Spring or Fall clothes and if not for layers would have boiled. We needed airconditioning in Paris, Dijon and Lyon to sleep. Found some summer clothes in Dijon and lived in them.
I would rather have the options of not using airconditioning if cool weather but of turning it on if hot.
