This is a test.

And we are still wondering what the "forking" is about. Is it perhaps a new subtle way of insulting fellow members ? Fork you............ ;D ;D ;D

In theory, "forking" is a way to branch off from a posted topic. A purely hypothetical example:
Somebody asks about an inexpensive place to stay and some idiot moderator replies by talking about a nice place to buy canned tuna that just happens to be a few blocks away from an inexpensive hotel. If the idiot could just hit the "fork" icon, he could create a new thread specifically about canned tuna, and the forum would show the original posting in the new tuna thread so that it doesn't appear as if the moderator had been ruminating on canned tuna all day. Et voilà, the original thread would stay on topic. Unfortunately, the program is not working well and the moderator is awaiting a solution from the programming gurus.

LOL! I had a good chuckle over your explanation of the "fork test". Such an interesting yet astonishing example you provided. So clever of you to incorporate your rumination du jour (canned tuna) into an existing thread! No, really...the fork idea is good...if one actually could employ it!

Yes, Doug, Geordy and I were PMing just this morning about the disappearance of our tuna discussion.
All I know is that it made me so hungry that I broke into my stash of expensive tuna yesterday and ate some! It was divine.

How disappointingly mundane. When I saw the thread title, I just assumed it must be some type of restaurant/food review issue . . . .

Truffaut, exactly what kind of tuna are we talking about here?

Becky, I assure you the tuna is anything but mundane, though I am sorry you were disappointed by the thread title.

Still trying to catch up and saw this.
I used to work for a magazine that had two monthly articles by resto critics. One of the critics called his column Fork in the Road. I've always liked that title.

Truffaut, What if the moderator HAS been ruminating on canned tuna all day. Wha? I'm just saying...
